Arizona Grand Lodge
The Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSIA) is the largest and oldest national non-profit organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the Unites states. Its headquarters is in Washington D.C. OSIA was established over 100 years ago in New York City by Dr. Vincent Sellaro to help Italian Immigrants assimilate to their new home in America.
The Grand Lodge of Arizona is the administrative arm of the local lodges and is the liaison between the National headquarters and the local lodges.
We are open to people of any gender, age, religion and profession. You don’t have to be Italian to join! Whether you are of Italian heritage or simply have a love of things Italian, OSIA welcomes you as a member.
The next page will give you detailed information of all the established Lodges in Arizona and contact information. You will also be able to obtain a membership application.
Each Lodge provides a place where Italian American can meet and promote our Italian heritage, language and culture! Each lodge chooses what they want to do and when they want to meet. Traditionally it is once a month.
OUR MISSION is to unite all persons of Italian descent or anyone interested in preserving Italian culture and traditions and to celebrate our heritage. To also encourage the study of the Italian language, promote customs and culture and pass it on to our children and grandchildren.
We are proud to promote our history and contributions to our great country of United States America.
The Grand Lodge is composed of the Grand Officers, all past State Presidents, State Delegates elected by the Lodges, the Presidents of the Filial Lodges (Local Lodges) and such other officers as are designated in the bylaws. The Grand Lodge meets on a “quarterly basis” 3rd Saturday of the Month. February, May, August & November.
Activities and Celebrations;
Columbus Day - October | Carnevale - February
We support the National designated charities which are:
Coolies Anemia, Alzheimer Association and Doug Flutie Autism Foundation. This is accomplished through our Local Lodges contributions. Other contributions are also made to local charities. The Grand Lodge also participates in the Italian Festival and other community events. Program in place: Scholarship Fund for H.S. Seniors going into higher education.
